Right, is it this site that's set to American spelling, or my browser? I've checked in the Firefox settings but there's only a 'Check my Spelling' tickbox, not a choice of languages. PC regional settings are all set to UK as well.
This is really grinding my gears. I know I could just switch off 'Check my spelling', but I'm stubborn. British spelling for British sites!

UK dictionary is selected for me in Chromium 17 and Firefox 8...

Ah, found it. You need to right-click in the typing box, then 'Languages', then 'Add dictionaries'.
