Yes you need 50 posts to view this forum from now on.
Bloody good idea!!!
/me walks off to kustoms mod lounge...
maybe we need a sticky or something to explain this?
hopefully this idea i suggested may cut down on n00bs with 1 post trying to use our forums to sell stuff without actually taking part in discussions. By this users also have to build up a reputation before selling items.
That was suttle - LMAO.Quote:
this idea i suggested
Thanks
but as a noob I would point out it is usefull for wanted adds to help you get started, and to reply to adds to buy something
I do understand where you are coming from but perhaps 50 posts is a bit much ?

well, one user who's just started a for sale thread has the grand total of 4 posts, another 2, and yet another 5, so how does that work?
not saying it's a good idea, haven't made my mind up on that, but just doesn't to be working...
i was wasn't it ;) just pointing out i dont sit here and do nowt.... i do come up with some pretty good idea's sometimes...Quote:

I see this has been implemented. I agree, it's a good idea to stop people just using these forums to sell their items, but couldn't it be changed so that you have to have 50 posts to create a new thread in the for sale forum? That way, anyone can ask questions about products and possibly buy them. Or, at worst, stop anyone with less than 50 posts from posting at all, but still allow viewing.
The reason this came up was because I tried to forward a friend, who is not a hexus member, to a recent thread on a Radeon 9500, and he was unable to view it. :/
It's a good idea yes. This isn't eBay :p
I've got 500 posts so nothing to worry about ;)
Although how I acchieved them in like a month is quite fascinating. Lol.
i agree, good idea, but i think it would be better if u could still view threads, just not create/post untill 50 because some ppl might not be logged in/hexus users
It makes sense as you often get people turning up to the forums and their first post is to sell something. On the other hand you get some bargains off them :)
I don't contend that. The only thing I'd like for non-members/members with less than 50 posts, is for them to be able to view the For Sale forums.
Well, I have been on these forums for a long time, used to read all the other forum bits, but used to post mainly in the For Sale and Trade ....
Had over 50 feedbacks in the old hexus profiles.
Had quite a few posts as well.
Now you want to block me from using this ?
Fine .... I am off to some other forums. Not gonna waste my time with this.
Another way to lose Hexus forum readers, you guys are doing well!!
Can i also add that the for sale and wanted forums aren't meant to be your primary reason for using these froums. If buying and selling is your only goal try somewhere that specialises in that such as ebay.
All that is being asked is you contribute to the community before being allowed to use these two forums. Discuss hardware and software, share ideas, tell off XTR for being obsessed about cars. 50 posts is not that many and it allows you to give something to the community rather than just turn up and use it as an online auction
