Reported this to the wonderfully UNhelpful people at vBulletin - as I'm not a paying user of their software they basically blanked me and said someone else would have to raise it as an issue, but here goes, if you guys want to pass it on...
I have signature pics disabled as they make posts horribly unreadable when you have to wade through 100+ pixel high logos, and animated ones just get distracting.
Most of the time this works perfectly - pictures are replaced by hyperlinks to the images, so I can view them if I wish.
Some people use multiple pictures in the sig, side by side to create a bigger overall image - this can cause the width of the particular cell to expand way beyond the rest of the table, which in turn makes that poster's post unreadable as it extends beyond the edge of the browser.
This happens in both IE and Firefox, btw.
This thread is a perfect example:

Scroll down to posts #4 and #6 with signature pics disabled and you will see this:

My desktop is at 1600x1200 and this particular browser session is a typical size, at just over 1000 pixels wide, yet it still can't accomodate the text.
vBulletin's "support" responded that there have been 4 releases since 3.0.0 RC2, and that after upgrading if the problem was still apparent to get the webmasters to report it as a bug!
Appalling service from them, after all I was trying to help them improve their product and the suggested fix was a triviality too (add a breakable space after replacing the image with the hyperlink).
I leave it to your discretion if you wish to bother reporting it to them, as I have no idea how many others use the forum with sig pics turned off and are bothered by it, but at least I can say I tried to get it resolved![]()
