What happened last night? Forum disappeared - hope it was maintenance, or even server failure, and not DoS or someone trialling out Sopa blocking!
What time?
At about 1.30am the service handling forum requests started crashing its child processes every time a request came in. Restarted the service and now it's fine.
Never happened before, but I'll see what I can find out.

I noticed it at circa 0145 and it was still down at 0345 when I went to bed. Gotta love work deadlines.
This sort of thing shouldn't happen, but whoever wrote the service obviously realised that it could, as there's a mechanism built in for dealing with it. Curiously, it's disabled by default, I guess in case your use-case involves your worker processes crashing continuously...
I've configured it now. Seeing as this error happened once in a period of 55 days, it'll probably be a while before we know if it's done any good
