Unable to create thread on News

Hi,

When I try to put a new thread on News, I get this:

Smudger, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Is News now locked down so only admins can post new threads? If so, why is the 'New Thread' button there?

Pretty sure that is by design. News threads are only created by a select few....but everyone can post on them once they have been created.

Stops all sorts of useless stuff being posted....
