    In the FS/FT forum...

Is it possible to allow people to close their own threads? Could make things a bit easier...

I think this has been discussed before, and the general consensus was no. The reason was because on person could throw abuse (or similar) at another person, then close the thread. Then the other person would do the same back. It would get annoying. I think hat was the reason - right?

My own reason for not doing it would be because if someone had a problem with their own computer, and asked for help on the board, but then figured out how to do it, they might close the thread. Then months later another person comes on with the same problem, but can't ask the guy who fixed the problem how he did it (without PMing).

In general, I think it COULD be useful, but it COULD be annoying .

sorry to correct, but i think the real reason was

that they would have to give everybody sort of modding powrs or make them semi-moderators, and this would cause extra hassle, but im sure if we all co-operate with 5cupa and other mods there will be no reason why we all cant have an enjoyable browsing experience
    Under Development...

not a good idea at all. 2 people could agree a price for something then the thread could be closed and arguments could occur. good in theory not in practice im afraid.
