More space for uploading pictures please.

There is an area in "My Profile" for uploading pictures. It seems to be one megabyte in total.

I have uploaded a few items into there, having first loaded them up into an image editor to crop them and export with the compression cranked right up to make them really small.

I don't like the idea of cross linking posts on this site to an account on another site allowing me to use their photo storage but exposing more details about me to the outside world. I'm sure someone who wanted to could work out who I am, but I don't want to make it easy :) So instead, I occasionally decide to just not bother posting something.

I am not expecting Facebook amounts of upload, but a magnitude more would only be 10M per user.

It would be great to have more than 70 space for messages too. 70 is not a lot over the course of 10+ years or so.

I'll raise it with t'management, perhaps linking it to post count as part of members rewards.

No promises that it will happen, but I will raise it.

As for messages, they can be downloaded to yourPC and deleted, freeing up space!

I could delete what is there, but then a thread somewhere on the forum would have a broken image link. I had space for one picture on http://forums.hexus.net/parenting-fa...lp-so-far.html, would be nice to post a launch picture when I get one but atm that isn't an option.

Are you using the albums, or another feature I've not seen?

What if one can't? My 'Manage Attachments' or if you like 'File Upload Manager' is filled with pictures and I just can't seem to be able to empty it? I have pictures there from ages ago, but there is no option to get rid of them, thus I can't upload any further?

Yes, I was putting pictures in my albums.

i went the other route and used a thrid party site to host the images. (imageshack) but now they have changed to a charging model and a number of my old pics have been scrubbed causing broken links in old threads. Worse, some of the links now go to completely random images where they have recycled the link!!! Talk about cack-handed. You should never do that IMO. I found another site whose name escapes me now, but I hesitate to use it as it seems a bit dodge in the results in can bring up when you simply google its name.

So long story short, I'd appreciate more image storage - or ability to load images into a thread so they stay with the thread. This could be done in an impersonal manner - ie not attached to a user's personal storage area. Appreciate there's difficulties implementing this (fair usage etc) to stop it being abused, but would help with loading the odd screengrab of a product spec/similar which I often want to do but find TMH so mostly don't.

Still pursuing this :)

It is currently linked to post count, but perhaps increase the storage available at another post count threshold.
