Which competition?
First couple of the latest ARM competitions did it, but number 3 has stopped. Thanks Hexus people :-)
Fixed
Hi, also related to competitions so I didn't want to start a new thread, but I wonder if you could implement a way of checking what competitions you've already entered? In your t+c's it says duplicate entries will be voided but I often can't remember which ones I've entered, especially with chains like the Christmas ARM ones and getting email reminders for older competitions confuses things further.
Cheers!
Try not clearing out the Hexus cookies from your browser, CCleaner can do this for you providing you set your browser not to delete cookies on close.
Not sure what can be done user side to prevent reminder emails for competitions already entered, probably nothing.
I don't clear Hexus cookies? I don't see what difference that would make as, besides from the 'thanks for entering' page, I've never seen anything different to the entry form on competitions?
I'm also signed in on Hexus but it gives no indication whether or not I've entered a competition? It even pre-fills my name on the form (i.e. server, not browser side as I have form autocomplete disabled).
What do you see on the Epic Giveaways page for each comp? http://hexus.net/epicgiveaway/
It says 'enter' in the top right if that counts?
I see "Entered" for those that I've entered

Enter in the top right indicates to me that there's no cookie, mine are days 13/14 Enter, recent comps are marked as Entered.
All my Hexus cookies (14 are comp related) appear to be marked to expire at the end of the session.
Check browser settings, any disk cleanup settings, privacy/security software settings...
Strange, I explicitly allow cookies for Hexus on Firefox where I have cookies set to session-only by default. And on Chrome, aside from having third-party cookies disabled, I think it's pretty much default. On that page I can see valid Hexus cookies and some blocked Facebook ones, and that's it.

As you can see it displays my username so cookies seem to be fine?
It certainly looks like it's a cookies issue on your side, using 2 browsers to access the compo pages isn't likely to help either.
Are you sure you don't have something like CCleaner set to run at boot?
I use Chrome on one PC, Firefox on the other. And yeah I'm pretty sure I don't have CCleaner or anything like it messing about with my PC. I've never seen anything different on competitions, over many reformats, browser re-installs, etc, and as you can see from my profile I've been a member since '09.
Unless it's something to do with third-party cookies like Facebook, somehow, I have no idea what's doing it. I've even accessed it on a couple of different phones - no different, and hence my original question.
Edit: OK so enabling third-party cookies seems to un-break it? That's a setting I automatically set when re-installing a browser so it would explain why it's not been working for me.
So I guess I could re-phrase my original question to: Is there a way to link competition completion to account or something, as there seems to be some link between them anyway with auto-filling my details?
Edit2: Hang on I've just put settings back the way they were and it's still saying entered. OK I'm confused now. I'll keep an eye on it though. But still, it would be useful to see entered competitions without having to be on the same physical system IMHO.
