Is it just me or have the servers been down since yesterday evening?

Yep, we had some problems yesterday for quite some time. All seems to be well now though, and I'm sure Az/David/PD/someone that's not me will have a fuller explanation of things in due course.
We're glad to be back!
MOLLY AND POPPY!
Site went down at 7pm. It was a number of failures, one tied to 30MBIT/s bandwidth usage
I bet it was those damn americans all getting home and logging on!
You didn't get /.ed again did you?
Ooyah! Delibarate, or just non-specific ****wittage? Regardless, glad to see you back.Originally Posted by David
Two links to articles on a slashdot post were responsible for the bandwidth spike. I think that caused follow-on failure elsewhere. Whoopsy.

Please can I clarify.
It was not the Slashdot which took us down - it was something else which was not in place to deal with the volume of traffic.
What? So as a result of being slashdotted something failed...and it went down...
Surely that means the site was /.ed....just not directly you...

Having an article on Slashdot linked to Hexus, causing masses of traffic. Lol

Anyway we are again exploring this to solve the problem.
