Had to RE-REGISTER

I find this utterly annoying
I read hexus quite a lot but dont really write too much
This is the 2nd time i've had to RE-register .....so have lost the number of posts i made PREVIOUSLY towards free shipping from scan.uk , how often do you have to contribute so your account doesn't get deleated???

I can only edit this post but cant reply to it also i keep getting this nessage

2: If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

This appears even if you try to quote your own post

For clarification BiggYinn biggyinn ect is the only user name i've used on here then aftera few posts i get kicked , i have registerd previously , i'm never vulagar or discourtious and have followed the guidlines , my posts are never one liners lol!o

We don't normally delete accounts however were you affected by this?

What were your previous usernames?

As Peter said, accounts aren't deleted UNLESS :-

1) It'scan inactive account, by which I mean no access for months, and no posts EVER. That is to say, I sometimes clear out bot-created accounts, mostly those that never responded to the activation email. Or ...

2) Individual accounrs "banned" for some specific reason, which would be known to the poster. Or ...

3) Very rarely, an administrative tidy-up. An example would be in situations like this where a duplicate account was created, but only AFTER the original account problem has been resolved.


To the best of my knowledge, NO accounts have ever been deactivated where a positive post count exists simply due to inactivity. Even after years, it should be valid, other than due to problems like the one Peter referenced. And even I had to reregister during that. ;)

I think there was a missing 'not' there, as in "accounts are NOT deleted ..."

Indeed, Peter. That'll teach to to tyoe quickoy, late at night. Post edited.

We DON'T, except in very exceptional situations, delete acounts. Other than those "registration mail not received" ones, which is not what happened here, and an occasional duplicate account, I can't remember EVER deleting one.
