How about a DX12/Vulkan gaming CPU review?
No doubt the benchmarkers are already beavering away on all sorts of products, but one of the big fanfares for DX12/Vulkan is how much they'd reduce the CPU overhead of running games. But with all the latest releases and benchmarks being GPU focussed, I've not really seen much in the way of a DX12 or BUlkan round up on what impact CPUs are having on performance under the new APIs.
So, what are the chances someone could take a couple of days to throw together a CPU comparison across a couple of DX12 titles and Doom? I know it'd be hard to work out, but perhaps an FX 8000 series against an i5 and an i7 with a GTX 1080 @ 4k, and a recent quad-core APU against an i3 (and maybe a Pentium?) with an RX 480/GTX 1060 @ 1080p? Or maybe just the whole lot with one of the GPUs...?
*shrug* I know it'd be a lot of work, but it doesn't appear to be something that's readily available elsewhere, and there are enough DX12/Vulkan games around now that it's starting to make sense as a consideration when buying new hardware...

Re: How about a DX12/Vulkan gaming CPU review?
OK,I might be able to help there(a bit). I have a GTX1080 for some evaluation purposes, where I could try and test Doom on a Xeon E3 1230 V2/Core i7 3770 and an A6 3670K?? It might take me more than a few days, and I am trying to do some other benchmarking too(and also play some games on it too). I also have ROTR but its meant to be a bit of a hit and miss DX12 implementation though, and the A6 3670K based rig is only running Windows 8 too.
Edit!!
I only have a qHD screen though.
It know it would not be as good as a proper article, and Doom is very finicky to test apparently but I could give it a try.
