As title - is this intentional? I quite liked it, a handy way to keep track of the latest Hexus news, but it's gone from the forum's front page for me now? Same logged in/out and on Edge/Chrome/Firefox.

Gone for me too and has been for a few days. I also liked it as you could just scan through it for interesting articles. I am one the latest version of Firefox.
