picture hosting bug

just posted a picture in the https://forums.hexus.net/home-garden...y-decking.html thread.

I can see it fine, but apparently DaKid can't?

checked in edge, the picture shows up.
chrome, cant see a picture atall, not even a square with an X in it for broken link. drag selecting in my post doesn't even show a link as being there...

I've used this album hosting thing for many years without problems, like for those 2 competition win threads from 2012/14. so guessing its a recent chrome(?) change

Just had a look at the thread - I can see the picture using Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Is it a setting in your Chrome setup?

Doesn't work for me in firefox and the direct link is just a single pixel.

As for the album link I just get : Invalid Album specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

chrome is on default setup, no addons, only tweaks are:
im not logged into chrome via the user button next to minimize/window/exit. google account on youtube/google.co.uk - logged in there.
theme is Dark Horizon,
do not track is enabled
hardware acceleration enabled.



Its not one of those weird 'because i'm in the hexus social group' things is it?
maybe theres certain permissions and things that allow me to do things and see things the normal user group can't but admin and staff can also see?

although it is a bit odd that no-ones mentioned not seeing my pictures before. hence me thinking its a recent thing.

edit; just a thought, its not to do with https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44937782 is it?
the albums section has been updated to https hasn't it? could be some security permission chromes blocking.

edit 2: Chrome not logged into hexus, cant see anything. album link doesnt work (probably to do with not being able to view user profile stuff while not logged in)
logged into hexus on chrome, can see all the pictures, and get to album.

starting to think it is a user permission thing because im in social group. where green names/admin/staff can see hosted pictures but normal users can't.

The picture you posted on the 26th June, I can't see, in any browser so don't think its anything to do with HTTPS

So yes, it could be a permissions thing. Is the pic in a public or private album?

I can't see it in firefox logged in or not.

its public since yesterday. been private for last 8 years since been using the album.


still thinking its recent change (since 2014) that's done it, because that 750ti review did have a bunch of pictures linked to the album and it was private then too, and I could see them on various computers.



further thought: those who cant see the picture, do you have access to albums atall? even on your own profile?
on your My Profile. its under the friends list on the left side. above the last visted


just as a test I had a look at ik9000 profile,(by clicking name at left of post and clicking View profile - mentioning just incase that's a feature im not supposed to have too) could see they have an album last used 9th jan 2014, 2 scans of a book. in the re workhouse album.
peterb you have an album with a picture of a fibre switch from 18th march 2017.


so if others can see them, but not mine, might be because of the social profile afterall..

'wild guess' is it because my username is 'stevie lee' with a space in the middle, and not a _ . screwing up the links somehow?
my album name also has a space in the middle. ill try renaming that.

the link does alter my username to stevie+lee. could that be it? throwing off the picture viewing of users. but why can peterb see the images when logged in ? curiouser and curiouser..

changed it back to album name with space in it. so if it does get working all a sudden, then the picture links round rest of he forum wont need altering.
