I'm sorry for my rash posting, but the problem still persists. :( :( :(
try doing a repair on you IE install, Start >> control Panel >>> add remove programs, highlight IE and click change, then select repair.
It is also possible one of your plugins are corrupt. Go to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files and see if any are marked with problems.

Given the rarity of this occurence (to date only 2 or 3 people have reported it) it sounds like it's something particular to the setup of IE or more likely a plugin. I can't replicate it at all so until we track down the unique cause I can't look into finding a fix. Any details of plugins and so on will go a long way to help diagnosis. Also, it's important you tell me what you were doing and at what stage in loading the page the fault occured. If you can pay attention to the status bar at the bottom of the screen and see if the intellitxt calls have been made that would be useful as well

Other fact:
It seems that the problem occurs only on the front page of hexus.net !
As soon as I switch to a review the problem doesn't occur any longer...
as Iain suggested, on your screenshot you have dragged the box down which is fine, but that has covered up the only intellitxt link, can you take another full screenshot of the front page when you get the error but drag the boxes to the side so we can see as much of the page as possible.....
Also, are you running a popup blocker of any specifics? (just thinking outloud here, go with me on this)

I have had the same problem but only once. This would suggest is was a fluke but ie has never crashed on any other site. It happened when I typing a message and I clicked preview message. This was on a brand new xp install with sp2 and latest ie, no spyware, google search bar installed, direct connection through wirless hub.
Yes the IE included one.Quote:

- screenshots
- full browser version information
- list of any browser plugins or toolbars you have installed
- how you access the web e.g. via an anonymous proxy or direct connection
- operating system (should be easy to work out in this case but you never know)
Web connection: DSL via router
Windows XP SP2 + all updates

No idea what that first plugin is you have in the list, the lack of accurate name is a bit concerning.
Can we get a screenshot of the crashed front page of hexus? I.e. load up hexus, let it crash and take a full screen screenshot?
thanks

Yeah sure, but why is my first screenshot not sufficient ? :)Quote:

no I understand that screenshot, but looking at the text he took a screenshot of the only intellitxt entry on that section of the page is covered by the error message, we could tell from a fresh screenshot if the page has actually loaded the intellitxt links or whether that is whats causing his system to crash, thats why I was asking for a new full page screenie ;)

I would like to make a new fullscreen screenshot, but at the moment
it seems as if the problem is gone... :shocked2:
Strange...
I have had 2 further crashes, both times it was when I clicked post message, the message posted ok and then ie crashed. No other websites have crashed my machine.
