    Duplicate Threads In Different Forums

On occassion, I've noticed Hexus staff making duplicate thread posts in different forums. Isn't there some way to have a single thread entry in multiple forums that all take you to the same thread, similar to the way hardlinking works?

Reason I mention this is because of what's happened with the PowerColor X800 competition threads here and here - each has completely different replies, but both sets of replies are relevant.

Of course, such a feature probably requires database changes, and as such, is probably something to suggest to the Jelsoft guys. And even if it is brought in, one may want only mods to be able to do it, or, if normal users would be able to, enforce a maximum number of concurrent forums, to avoid spamming (In that case, though, removing a single thread would fix the whole thing, rather than having to trawl all the forums to remove instances of duplicate threads).

On a seperate note, is there a way to change the META keyword and description tags in all the Hexus forum pages? Jelsoft must love the free advertising.

I thing the META tags are part of the license, I know you can add to them but I do not think removal of them is allowed, but I don't think its that much of an issue to us, but I can by all means check with David for you.

Reference the multi-linking/multi-thread issue, I think you have just chosen one of those subjects that was done in two places to get maximum exposure, it was a short term competition and as such needed good exposure, It will probably be merged together soon now the competition is over, but again, I will check with David.

Of course, I understand that a thread may need exposure, and as such, may need to be posted in multiple forums. But that competition thread isn't the first time I've seen posting like that; it's only the most recent one I've noticed, and one of the few (As far as I know) to get that many replies.

Tis. quite a good idea, but as you say, control of it and setting up would be the annoying parts
