Last night / early this morning, I got 3 separate emails telling me my account had been reset, all 3 mails gave me new passwords. Despite re-registering (again) I had to re-register for forum access.

Sigh, the email clearly states that the account that was reset was the users.hexus.net account NOT the forums account.
I'm not getting at you personally northsider but would the recipients of these emails please take the time to read them through before posting that their forum account is still using the old password.
Which means that your old account on the forum is exactly the same as it was.
