whilst I have some sympathy with the fact you are restricted, let me give you and idea of the problem.....

Currently there are 9,241 members, now some of them have larger allowances (staff) but working on the 70 limit for everyone....

    9241 x 70 = 646,870 PM's available in the system at any one time.

9241 x 100 = 924,100 PM's potential - its that 50% or so increase that would push the database size through the roof.

The best bet for your PM allowance is to clear out your outbasket, this can be accessed on the drop down within the PM section of your HEXUS profile.

70 is already an increase from the default and for system loads and database sizes (the database is already MASSIVE) its unlikely to see an increase at this time.

To be honest, I think 70's very generous, I'm used to forums where 10 or 20 is the limit(if they're even allowed), and was actually quite surprised to find 70 is allowed. Also, it really should be enough for anyone imo. Ok Im new here, and am not generally likeable or intresting enough to recieve alot of PM's, but surely you dont have 70 extremely important PM's none of which you can delete, but none of which you have to time to copy+paste to notepad?

Whilst you can say that, how many are used at one time? I'd imagine utilization not to be huge. What would be good is if it can bubble temporarily.

I'm finding that im having to reset and empty my account a lot after just a few transactions.

Mods and admins have a large amount in order to allow us a full audit trail so utilisation is high, it's certainly not as much as is available based on the sums, but it's high

If you're using it for transactions relating to for sale and so on then I would suggest email as a better medium, going through 70 pm's for a few transaction indicates a rough line of at least 15 messages per transaction (assuming few to mean around 5). That's a lot, and the pm system is not built to support your needs e.g. searching, categorisation, long term storage.

If you're struggling to set up a mail account to support transactions, I'm happy to send you a gmail invite. Ultimately though, we're not increasing the limit, 70 is a vastly generous number.

I agree with the majority here, 70 is very generous. Just clear mine out every few weeks then those I wan't to keep a bit longer/for reference I export.

I assume you're talking about buying and selling, if so, why don't you just move to email? I mean, it makes extremely little difference to you surely, and you dont need to worry about limits either.

I have to say 70 is fine as long as you keep it up to date! Just delete the old stuff. However I have been known to be overzeleous!
