    Sky HD Ad

    Anyone else noticed that the Sky HD advert monopolises processing time?

    So much so on my laptop that typing this post is slow as molasses and the carrat is blinking on and off randomly.

    Guess it isn't a big deal though

    We had a number of people report this to us, thanks.

    We've removed the ad for now; if it comes back it will be a modified version that has been checked to not be too CPU greedy.

    Sometimes these things are out of our hands, but we try to deal with any issues as soon as we can.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Is it just me or has it crept back in again? I noticed scrolling pages was jittery, noticed there was a Sky HD advert on show, task manager displayed 100% usage on firefox.exe

    I mentioned this and was advised to hit ctrl+f5, which appears to have provided me with an updated version of the ad, which is considerably friendlier.

    Let us know if that doesn't work for you.

    What spec system are you running, what is the CPU load when you are using these (not the 68% thing) show me the graph?

    That figure fluctuates (the percentage). I'll need to see if I can find the ad again to get the graph up, its long gone I'm afraid.

    Crikey - and you have done the CTRL+F5 (Cleared Cache etc?)

    I know the old version killed PCs but the new one doesn't seem as bad to me

    Yep definately done that. I've just cleared the cache too in tools>options to see if that makes a difference.

    I had a similar issue with another flash banner before that everyone was having, but when it was removed I'd never seen it again.

    Its not x64 related, is it?

    Does Rys run x64? I think it was him I saw on here mentioning he's had a faultless experience (maybe it was in the Vista thread?) with x64 previous to using Vista if it was.

    Any comments from him?

    Hehe, its not a big deal. I can refresh the page, or click on a forum and it goes away it doesnt particularly bother me. Just thought I'd let you know thats all, if I'm an anomaly I shouldn't worry, however if there are others still getting it...
