    Front page shenanigan's

No not the microsoft office program, but in fact the hexus front page and news articles.

I don't know what's causing this, but it's starting to happen more and more now.

As you can see from the image below, the text in articles for some weird reason dissapears and to read it I have to highlight the whole page making it look like that old Word processing program

This occurs on both my home system ( XP MCE2005 - IE7BETA2 ) and my work system ( XP Pro - IE6 with all the latest patches rolled out across the network )

I thought I'd bring this up for your attention.

It's the advert and the floating div containing it. It only happens on IE and I'm not aware of a CSS hack that fixes it. If anyone happens across one please let me know otherwise there's not much I can do.

If it does happen then if memory serves you can either refresh the page or resize it to get the text to display. We're currently undergoing a rebuild which will address this and other issues so it's not a case of "we're not fixing it" it's just not a quick fix

Thanks Iain - I'll just keep pressing Ctrl and mouse scrolling. Saying that the text needs to get bigger as my eyesights not what it used to be

I've come across this problem before on IE with something I designed, so I'd be quite interested in a solution if anybody finds one.

You mention that you will fix it during a rebuild - would you mind divulging the solution? Or is it just a case of not using a floating div?

    Sorry the hijack!

It's not just the floating div on it's own, it's the div in combination with the surrounding columns and their implementation. The fix comes about by changing the site structure, it is a coincidental byproduct of the changes I'm making, albeit a welcome one.

I think there may be a fix involving min or max-width which I'll be trying out in the interim. If it works I'll post here and let you know
