A nice safety razor will set you back £20, a brush maybe another £10, 100 blades from fleabay for £11 or so, some shaving soap and you are set. I went back to shaving with a safety razor some years back after getting sick of paying the astronomical costs of scraping fuzz from my face.
A single blade safety razor will shave as close as any multi-blade monster.
