As Bluecube said, England and Wales only.

However I do live in the best place in Scotland apparently.

    20. Only 7 ASB. Mostly criminal damage and theft.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

I think this service was launched last year.

Initially, it was refered to as the 'Interactive Crime Map' because the interweb is all 'Interactive' these days. Of course, if it where interactive, I'd be able to drag the rozzers out of the Tesco Extra deli and drop them where crime was being commited

I live in Bristol, north of the centre but central enough that my crime figures are just below 1500. A lot of it is ASB.

Two shops on my street did get ram-raided a few months back... watching the crims was like a Benny Hill sketch.
    PHP Code:

    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

I thought 105 was a pretty bad score! lol Some of these are crazy. However It doesn't explain why simply changing my address on my car insurance to my mums sky rockets the price by £400! I can't see it being due to criminal activity anymore!

Re: What is your area like? (UK)

722 for my area of south-east London.

I'm living in my mum's house at the moment, and her house has been burgled- or windows broken in failed attempts etc.- 7-8 times since we all moved here 27 years ago IIRC. There were a spate of car break-ins in the side road next to our house a few years ago, including the CD player I got from a boot sale for a fiver out of our old Clio. But we live on the street corner and it's relatively easy to get into our garden. When I was 15 a drunk bloke made a half hearted attempt to mug me- I simply ran off.

But I don't live in fear of crime, despite being in an apparently higher risk area than most of you.

Re: What is your area like? (UK)

556 for my chunk of Longsight, which makes mine the highest in Manchester so far, I think. Of course, a cunning person could now work out where a load of hexites lived by trying a variety of postcodes in roughly the right area until they got an exact match...

p.s. couldn't resist trying my old "home" address - that is, the place I called home when I went to uni. 1.

Yes, 1. 1 "other theft". That's how boring the place I grew up is

AFAIK the insurance premiums are based on much larger geographical areas than the crime trend figures. So if you live *near* an area that has 1000+ reported crimes, that might be enough to make the increase.

But of course it won't just be crime - I'm pretty sure insurance premiums will take into account the incidence of RTA in a locality as well, for instance...

283 from the west bit of Guildford, half of it's ASB.

An interesting note; the Crown Court sits on the road associated with the most crime in this area with the police station literally around the corner
