    Re: Wall Thermostat central heating

I don't think that degree of precision or accuracy will be readily attainable or even desireable.. In my experience, the temperatures are a guide, and in practice it is a case of setting the thermostat so that the room feels comfortable for you, and the temperature at the thermostat may not (will not) be the temperature throughout the room.

And that tolerance of control is not realistic either. Too tight and the heating source will be cycling on and off continualyy, and the thermalk lag of the room would make that degree of control unrealist anyway.

As for makes, anything by ACL Drayton, Horstmann, Honeywell, Pegler or other well known brands will do the job

Suppliers in the UK... I have just bought a new heating progarammer from www.heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk who were the lowest cost for the programmer I wanted, and gave fast and good service. Other suppliers such as www.plumbnation.co.uk were cheaper for other products, so it pays to shop around. Both those firms' websites might be a useful starting point to identify a model that will suit your needs.

Googling Central herating thermostats will give you more useful links.

The boiler is too far away for a wireless thermostat
The prog setting could be a daily one only since we are at home all day
Indeed if it was accurate I would settle for a manual peration

I have a Honeywell CM927 Chronotherm, It has a wireless range of 30metres you can adjust the temperature in 0.5*c increments and you can set 6 different temperature throughout the day, For everyday of the week.

It has Optimal Start which means it learns how long it takes for the house to get to the set temperatures and it starts the heating X amount of minutes before the set time so that at the set time the house is at the required temperature. It uses a proportional heating demand which means when the house (thermostat) is at the set temperature it will run the boiler for a few minutes just to 'top up' the heat of the radiators to maintain the temperature.
