Anyone keep or kept any?

I'm thinking of trying my hand.

I've been thinking the cheapest way, which will also let me learn as I go, and avoid expensive screw ups, will be to try to raise some from cuttings or seeds. Cuttings preferably. Also thinking the best way to go might be to go for native species of trees since I wont have to worry too much about climate problems etc.

The first one that comes to mind is the Stone Pine, although I'm planning to go talk to some friends at the local botanical gardens to get some input.

Anyway, curious to know if there are any in Hexus who have kept Bonsai.
