    Well, as I say, I'm may call this one snails 1, sammy 0. I've got smaller pots indoors anyway; these were for the future benefit of bees etc as much as myself. Or I could do as you say & keep them in for a while, have another go at some point & use a decent deterrent. Like peterb I'm not keen on using slug pellets.. or despatching slugs/pests at all, come to that, if I had rows of prize cabbages then maybe they would bother me.. but I'm not a serious gardener & anyway I reckon on sharing the outdoors. Nature's just itching to take it back, however much you line up your dahlias with a slide rule.
