Washing machine leaving sand-like white flakes/granules on clothes?

Is that a limescale problem? I mean, we do live by the seaside but I wouldn't have put anything sandy in there.

When I take my clothes out, they're clean except they need a good shake outside to get ride of some small sand-like white specks.

Cheap washing tablet and a cool wash? I sometimes got this with own-brand tablets on a 30oC cycle, annoying on black clothes! Switched to liquid now.

D'oh!, forgot to check, will try later. What effect would a broken heater element have to cause the sand-like granules?

    thanks

Does your washing machine have a filter, maybe that needs a clean out, plus the drawer where you put your powder can get pretty scummed up.

Dunno about the item, but I'd remove your postcode from the link.

Yes, Calgon is good product. I think that they have renamed it but I can't remember the new name. Maybe I am wrong.
