UNF is a bit of a rarity these days, especially in the UK. Still used in the US IIRC.

Shame I wasn't in my previous profession, coulda had my boys run one up in the workshop. 3 years too late :p
Could always buy a bit of tube and a UNF tap and do it yourself? Something with an ID of abt 11.4 mm (0.4459")

Depending on the application, maybe a rivnut would serve your purpose, they provide an internally threaded hole and riveting onto sheet metal.

Good idea, Ive been looking at various, inserts but some of the measurements are not quite there and would prob mean using some sort of epoxy or filler.
The insert will need to be push n pull resistant too so it can handle force both ways.

Have a look at this

Try searching for pipe coupling rather than tube.
