Some photos of on-going garden update (img heavy)
We have decided to update our back garden a little bit by adding a small lean-to, maybe build a few chairs from wood.
This is what it looked like a couple years ago.

But being the main walk way in the house and general gathing area (we don't use the front door) and the great weather we all enjoy here in the UK its gotten rather dirty and tatty looking.
The Idea.

I would have liked to go larger but due to restrictions for gas flues this well do.
So the work began...
Tools and screws..

The flower bed...
Because of the roof that was being added we decided to remove the planter and have a raised section of deck, most of the decking on the step up was reclaimed from other projects I did over the last couple years so it would match the lower deck.
removing the planter.

Sizing up the deck (built a temporary frame at back while waiting on getting new 2x4 wood).

New frame to take boards, centre section is removable, I intend to box the underneath in and use it for storage.

Still loads to do to it.

Top 2 images are removed?
Looks good, nice work, I fancy updating our decking but just don't think I have the skills to do the kind of job I'd demand if someone else did it!
Re: Some photos of on-going garden update (img heavy)
Top images fixed, not sure why that happened :/
Re: Some photos of on-going garden update (img heavy)
Very nice ! My DIY skills are zero.

First, bargain of the month

Picked this up from someone on facebook for £5 including 2 spare sanding belts
Besides a few small bits the lean to is finished, all guttering is done

And the chairs are started...

There should be 4 chairs but I think someone used one of the chairs frames for firewood at Saturdays BBQ :( so I will have to redo one!

Looking good, keep it up with the picks, going to do my own bottom of the garden project in a few weeks so will try and remember to take picks.

I must say that I agree with Zak 100%, if I had 1/10th of these skills I would be a very happy man, but I'm not a DIYer by any stretch of the imagination.
Some imagination for those chairs and tables eh ?
Hmmmm, where does Barry live ? Me can't help but wonder if he's close enough to come do one for me :)
Re: Some photos of on-going garden update (img heavy)
Great thread - puts my DiY skills in the shade!

I don't know where I'd be without use of the table saw, slicing wood in to 1/2 inch strips can be tricky without one!

I'm not really happy with the chair bases (the 47x100 timber looks abit pants tbh) so I may change that for deck boards aswell so it's the same as the back rest
Thomas the tank engine! (hes not been painted yet, Saturday was his first burn)

We call it a moonbow

This is the view of the moon from under the roof, sadily the camera didn't pick up all the colours if it was giving off.
