I do have £18 spare. I also have two Workmates that I've had for about 30 years. What I don't have is space for a 3rd one. Nor do I have the deathwish buying another one would imply, when 'management' found out.
You're right, though, it does look like a heck of a bargain.
But you need a spare? I mean what happens when you need to cut something really bulky and big, like the body of the management that found out about hte purchase of the work mate. That way you have smaller chunks, easier to manage and dispose of!
hmmm. the 4th picture on amazon showed me a use I never thought of for my workmates (yes that's plural, ive got 2)

just need to wait until its a lil' bit warmer and not raining to sort my shed and bikes out.
then it'll be time for a shed thread don't you think?
we've got everyone showing off their computers, why not show off our sheds too? :)
and yes, its stonking value £26.90 at toolstation, £20 for a similar one at screwfix.
When I need something larger than two workmates will handle, I get management to hold the extra bit. It's less messy and far safer than your suggestion for management.
Besides, when was the last time you got a cuddle from a spare B&D Workmate, or one cooked your dinner?
I've ordered one... I mean... that is SO cheap it hurts
Actually.. I ordered 2
cant be robbed....

Popular with many hobbies http://www.gunsumerreports.com/Ruger..._Rifle_095.JPG
hexus:competition idea.
most unusual use for a workmate?
Just ordered one. Bargain :)
Same price on Tesco & you get Clubcard points http://www.tesco.com/direct/black-de...FSbHtAodZFkADw
I have no immediate use for it, but at that price it would just be rude not to!
Cheers dude :)
We've got a Black & Decker one, much the same idea but probably at least 20 years old. So if its anything like that one, they should last!
I just got one of these for my birthday:

Being able to raise the front portion by 90deg is handy, but I think I need to get another with the two independent handles that can skew the rear board instead.
Have to admit, a couple of those basic ones would be pretty damned useful (don't have anywhere to store them though, and already gone over my DIY/tool budget for the month).
Probably the only Black and Decker piece of equipment i had which has lasted more than 5 minutes they are convenient hadn't thought of using it to hold the a bike for repair will make life much easier
