Has any one here tried them ?
My old bed / mattress are just about done so I was curious about having a lower height ( as I have always slept better on floors ) and maybe a firm orthopedic mattress ontop.
Been looking at these.

I had one for a bit, and then realised that it was achieving nothing over just a plain mattress on the floor, and that's what I've had since. It's a bit odd at first, but I've never had any problems. The only thing I would say is that they're much harder to get out of - rather than swinging your legs out and standing up, you've got to basically climb up to a standing position. Depending on circumstance, it may not be a big deal, but I know at first, early in the morning, that suddenly feels like a real chore.

The other disadvantage with a platform bed is storage. You can stash a decent amount of stuff under a standard bed (unless you get a drawer-less divan)!

I have one of these Ikea Mandal beds in storage and tbh, can't wait to use it again
Good firm base, with a firm foam mattress and storage underneath
Snootyjim has the right of it though, to start with it took some getting use to, getting up from such a low position, but I kinda miss that now.
I used to have a bed base made of pallets so it's natural for me to sleep close to the floor. Plus if you fall out of bed there's not far to go. Disadvantages are that when you get up, you really have to get up off the floor. Further to go when you're feeling crappy. However rolling onto the floor and crawling to the loo with a hideous hangover is easier

On my perspection, Its better to avoid buying platform beds. Because once my uncle bought platform beds its seems like cushion and very sophisticate but later after few months its quality been reduced. Cushion became flat and exhaustion. So better not to get fool by buying that type of beds even makeshift too.

Despite noting that, and that the OP (melon) may no longer be interested, I'll comment on this bit ....
There are adjustable platforms. Well, sort-of. I have one, needed when I got out of hospital a while back and couldn't get out of a standard height one.I use the beds height to help me a lot and dont have a lot of room - then again if i got new single bed I could have, pity there wasnt adjustable platforms..use the beds height to help me a lot and dont have a lot of room - then again if i got new single bed I could have, pity there wasnt adjustable platforms.
So, a domestic version of a powered hospital bed, but a bit more elegant (designs vary in that regard, from utilitarian to a bit more elegant but still utilitarian). Minimum height, on mine at least, is about 10 inches. Maximum? Well, put it this way, I could sit in bed and still change a ceiling light bulb.
Oh, and it tilts, putting either head level higher than feet or vice-versa, and the head end goes from flat to about vertical, at waist point, so you can sit up straight like in a chair. You can also raise the bit under the knees.
You will want to choose the mattress carefully, though. I went full foam, because I doubt steel spring cells would take that level of bending and last long.
It took some getting used to but is surprisingly comfortable, but if needed whether for medical or disability purposes, they are available. Melon is probably 7 years past finding this useful, but you never know who else reads reanimated zombie threads.
A lesson learned from PeterB about dignity in adversity, so Peter, In Memorium, "Onwards and Upwards".
the OP definitely won't be interested given they are now banned and have been for some time. Under that user name, and also under two more IIRC.
