How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
So,
How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Who is your provider ?
How many people and how many bedrooms in your house.
Me
- British Gas :wallbash:
Electricity - £140
Gas - £190
4 ppl , 3 bedrooms
I badly need to change suppliers. Weren't some companies offering free solar cells ? What happened to them ?
-
Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Is that each or for all of you over three months??
-
Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Four bedroom house, 2500sq/ft.
One person (and one frequent guest).
$120-180 per month for Gas/electric/sewer. Garbage pick up is another $34 a month.

The government pulled the plug on the enormous subsidies given to pay for feed in tariffs.

But funily enough, the installation costs dropped proportionately, so the return on investment time is roughly the same.

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Yeah it's only worth it if you are building your own house as there are grants/subsidies on new builds which are still worth it for a faster ROI
OP: how much are you using in units (KWH/cm^3)? When you have £z for gas/elec it's still x units at y1 peak price and y2 off peak price.... it's meaningless to say what it's OTT when the only thing that dictates the proportional cost is the unit price
-
Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
lol that's not bad ..really I pay £100 elecy and £75 gas a month ..

Gas was 4000kwh for last quarter and Electricity was 1000. British Gas dont have a peak/off-peak pricing for my tariff. It's something like upto x, y p. After x, z p
Electricity quarterly - £45 > 2005 £150 > 2013
Gas quarterly - £75 > 2005 £190 > 2013

So £330 for 4 people over 3 months? Thats £110 over three months each, which is around £37/month per person per month. That is not a lot TBH.

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
I'm on monthly DD's for both electric and gas.
From memory they're between £35-£40 for each per month so call it £75 a month for both and I'm really not a heavy user at all.
When I'm home will update with unit use age and charging.
Oh and the OP figures don't sound particularly high at all.

You're not suggesting that these "green" companies were ripping off the government are you? O_o

That or technology costs go down over time ;)

I'm paying £44 a month DD to British Gas for both (not each). That's 1 person in a top floor/2nd floor 2 bed flat (with central heating). If it wasn't for the long cold chill until April, I'd probably have paid over a bit. I only have the hot water on 15 minutes a day in the morning for a shower and that's it gas-wise now.

Possibly an element of that as mass production of solar cells increases.
But to the OP's question...
Single occupancy, 3 bedroom semi built 15 7ears ago and I pay £75/month to E-on. (but I am currently working from home so my energy costs are probably a bit higher).

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Gas £762.66 (17981.62 KWh) [The joys of the control unit being in someone's bedroom and heating being left on 24/7  ]
Elec £188.96 (1513.84 KWh)
5 bed, 6 people.
Sainsbury's Energy (British Gas)

That was my thought when the bills dropped, I had to check, re-check and then check everything again to make sure it was right...
Thankfully, I'm in charge of household finances, so I've been stealing money from everyone on the sly by telling them that they owe slightly more than they actually do every month. (Was supposed to leave people with a nice lump sum back at the end, but it covers any mishaps like this nicely too :) )

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Elec only about £60 pcm. Cheap overnight electricity helps a lot.

I've just logged into my account and appears I'm already up to just shy of £100 credit so I'd say I could drop the payments.
Sounds like very similar usage, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm in credit for the electric as I'm only at home the odd evening or two.

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
My gas was 75 for 3 months :p
-
Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
3BR – 3 occupants with EDF. Quarterly electricity is around £140-200 I think but gas is usually £420+ depending on the season. I’m surprised our electricity bill isn’t higher given the amount of computer and TV/AV use. I don’t know the exact numbers as the wife pays the bills.

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
£550 here for last quarter... 3 occupants in 2 bed flat (dual fuel from British Gas)
-
Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Have switched suppliers.
Gas to Flow energy. £43/month
Electricity to npower - £51/month
-
Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Fairly modern flat, two bedrooms and I work from home a fair bit
All per month
Gas:
Cold weather (central heading on) £55
Warm weather (No central heating) £25
Electricity:
£25
So much better compared to our old drafty cottage!

If you are looking to move to another supplier I would suggest you take a look at this comparison site url removed, they have lots of offers available for electricity and gas.

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
I'm with Scottishpower.
6 Person house, 6 bedrooms.
Gas: £100 p/m
Electricity: £60 p/m
I presume with this hot weather my gas will be much less for the summer months.
-
Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
Single, 24 months here = 1.10 a day av. (no gas) Actually less on av. as I've been here 30 months and the last bill was of course cheaper but 1.10 is the truer picture.
Cold? Never, bar perhaps a minute a night using the loo in the dead of winter. Cook? Of course. Little bathing? once every 2 days (ok, little in some peoples book, but I have a separate shower room for sweaty days) TV? about 10-15 hours a week......and so on.
I see one site suggests 14.00 a day for 1 bed flat (duel fuel) Simply refuse to accept 2 pounds a day p/p is necessary as I never deny myself or guests (for example & being the main one) heat in the room/s they are in, but I refuse to heat the hallway, unless they want to sit in the hallway!

Re: How much was your last quarter's gas/electricity bill ?
One bed flat about £75pm dual fuel via Scottish power.
