    Draw runners

So it's about time I renewed the dead draw runners in an old Ikea wardrobe we have. This thing is huge though - it spans the height of the room and almost the length.

The draw runners are 570mm in length when they are closed and around 1100mm (maybe 1150mm) when open with a standard 17mm depth.

I appreciate that seems an obscene length, but that's what they are! To make matters more interesting, they are and need to be the 17mm profile type and not the larger ones as they don't fit.

I don't know the name of the wardrobe and Ikea can't help me unless I do (it's very old).

Strange request I know, but any ideas?

instead of metal ones, why not try wood ones?

all depends on whether you're any good with accurate measuring, or it'll be all skewiff and not slide properly.

I find those basic wood versions tend to stick and certainly don't have a smooth action; the bigger the drawer the worse they are.

How about posting a pic of the wardrobe and the runners? You never know, someone might be able to track it down for you

    Re: Draw runners

Have you tried taking an old one in the Ikea store?, my local one has a free parts department for missing or replacement fixings and accessories.
