Recommend me some clippers; for hair.

For xmas i was looking at some clippers for my facial hair and to do the kids. I can get away with almost anything but kids hair is very thin and I would like something that cuts first time.

Re: Recommend me some cippers; for hair.

I used to use a set of cordless wahl ones I picked up on amazon for about £40. Lasted me well over 4 years till SWMBO decided she was sick of me looking like a convict and insisted I grow it out.

    I got these:

    http://www.tesco.com/direct/remingto...k/207-2251.prd

They cost me a pound, cos when I logged in, it told me I had a load of unused Clubcard vouchers. Bingo. Really good cut from the clippers as well, much less re-doing required.

Re: Recommend me some cippers; for hair.

I've used all kinds over the years - I tend to buy a pair, shave my head, wait till 6 months, forget where I've put them, buy new ones, shave my head, wait 6 months... repeat.

The Wahl ones are generally the better ones I've used and can be had on offer all the time for the £20 mark.

I use Remington clippers - model number is HC703C - part of a set, which I see they don't do any more!

However you might want to look at these...

http://uk.remington-europe.com/men/g...hair-clippers/ Nearest equivalent to mine are the HC70. - Does the job - what more do you want?

Re: Recommend me some clippers; for hair.

Thanks for the recommendations; really appreciate it.

    Found a forum; http://www.menshairforum.com

Wahl Chrome Pro Mains seems to be the front runner; includes DVD and a bag for £24; a bit more but I'm picking up cak all the time and maybe its time got something better.

Oster appears to be the daddy; bit too pricey for me.

All the models site hair pulling as a problem; this busniess appears to be down to not aligning the blades correctly.

Re: Recommend me some clippers; for hair.

    Hi Domestic Ginger,

I purchased a few pairs of cordless clippers a few years back and had no luck with any. Personally found they just weren't powerful enough to consistently cut. But I must say having no lead was nice.
If you kids hair is thin, maybe they'll be enough, but my hair's pretty thick - at least it was a few years ago.

So after the cordless lot, I picked up a pair of Wahl's, since my Dad had a pair for over fifteen years. I bought them back in 2009 and they are still cutting my hair each week as well as when I first received them.

Unfortunately, they seem to have gone up in price (bahh, inflation) but honestly even at £40 I would still recommend them. And if they broke tomorrow, I'd order another.

mine are wahl clip & rinse, just checked the box, and cut fine, do 2/3 goes at a charge. But then I did keep it short (grade 1 done weekly) they might catch in longer hair.

Re: Recommend me some clippers; for hair.

I've been shaving my noggin and mush for the best part of 25 years now and I've used all manner of different clippers/gadgetry. I used to mostly just use Wahl but they're not actually all that brilliant unless you buy professional grade and keep on top of getting them sharpened. My wife used to be a dog groomer so we know a thing or two about clippers y'see.

I now use aBabyliss Super Clipper and I can report it's the best I've used to date. These are the first cordless clippers I've had that can actually claim to function as pukka wires-free for at least two or three goes across my face and head before they run down. Any other cordless ones I've had have usually started to lose power and ultimately end up with a subsequent painful snag to the hair as the blades don't have enough juice behind them to do their job.
