I'm due to move soon and need help carry boxes down 2 flights of stairs to the van, I can handle things on the other side as I've got friends and family to help.

This however is where my google-fu is failing me, don't know if I'm not searching for the correct term, but I can't find any sites where you can hire someone for a one off job.

So, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've looked at odd job man websites and in all the examples and testimonials I've not seen them being used for removal purposes.

We don't really know people round here, only elderly family, which is one reason we're moving back; to be near our friends.

I suspect if you give one of them a call they'd come help out for some money, alternatively, we've used man & van in the past. If you havea car as well it was pretty cost effective vs. renting a van.

Got a quote for a man and van, worked out to 3 times the cost of hiring the van and fuel
