40? I’ve only got 16 in two arrays, one of 10 panels, one of 6!

    Re: Installing Solar_cells

Its been a while since I updated this - but the current cloudless skies..

in the quarter up to December 2017 I generated 446kWh worth around £79 slightly down on the same period the year before

up to March 2018 - 331kWh worth around £58 - slightly up on the same period last year

up to June 2018 - 996kWh worth around £181 - slightly down on the same period last year (but we did have a wet spring!)

I did notice a bit of algae/dust in the corners of some of the panels, but the risks of getting up to clean them up probably isn't worth it for the sligt reduction in efficiency. It really needs a tower, and the cost of hiring the tower would exceed the return gained!

The current value of each kWh is about 18p.

The total amount generated since installation is 12.4MWh

Wouldn't a window cleaner be able to do it?

Its getting up there. Most window cleaners use poles rather than ladders (Health and safety, working at height regulations). I could use a ladder, but my eaves have quite a high overhang. tbh, I think the reduction in efficiency is very low.
