    Steam Cleaners

Does anyone have a recommendation for an all purpose steam cleaner?
I know Saracen a few years ago had a Vax and spoke of using it for various cleaning tasks. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of other brands i.e. Polti?

    Hi

Dont know if you have bought one by now, but we got a Karcher from their factory store website - its reconditioned so with excellent discount and it was boxed like brand new with all accessories.

It works really well, and one point our previous one had was that the gun you hold used to get so hot it could hurt your hand....the Karcher does not suffer that thankfully.

We ended up buying a Polti Vaporetto comfort. Good, powerful machine that cleans well; but heat up takes 10mins. Fine if you plan ahead but not if you just want to whip it out and get on with the job.

Yeh, its not the kind of "tool" that you just "whip out" really......can you not reduce the amount of water you fill it with or perhaps fill it with boiling water from the kettle....however that may not make it any quicker!!

I have used hot water from the tap but it still needs to boil and pressurise. The amount of steam available after heat up is quite impressive though.
