I'd like to put my TV in the following space:
Would like to avoid an ugly/expensive/bulky pre-paid tv stand. In fact I'd rather use my coffee table that ought to do the job well, but I wonder how I can get a tv to fit comfortably in the above space.
I could just place it with stand on the top, widest shelf, where the HTPC currently sits. Alternatively, I could cut the necessary depth into that top shelf and the supporting board, but that requires a certain amount of skill and graft that I'd prefer to avoid.
The idea of a French Cleat appeals to me as well, though, but I'm not sure if it can work the way I want it to? I.E. the bottom bracket being fitted to the top of the shelf.
So instead of being fitted to the wall, the bottom bracket would be fitted to the edge of the shelf. The problem I can foresee is that the force will be pulling the bracket horizontally away, which on a wall just stresses the bolts, but this will stress the actual shelf itself. I'm sure there's a better way to explain that but hopefully I've got across my idea.
Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, advice?
Thanks!
