Where do i stand with these boots
Peeps
Now that i have your attention, i have a footwear related issue.
I bought a pair of boots from Sports Direct on 25th october and have wore them to work since and already they are falling to bits.
Not had them 6 weeks and already the glue that binds the sole to the side is coming away and the leather is coming away too. i would have expected them to last longer but already look like ready for the bin.
i have contacted Sports direct as i believe that they are faulty as i have only worn them from home to work and back 5 days a week. I now have an office job so i sit at a desk all day now.
So, does footwear have a warrenty? or am i destined to bin them and cut my losses.
See pics for damage.

Re: Where do i stand with these boots
Not sure where you stand legally (IANAL) but if you have the proof of purchase it may be worth taking them back for replacement.
I would certainly expect them to last longer than six weeks, but they may claim that you haven't looked after them (!) and that might be hard to disprove. On the other hand, they might just replace them.
If you don't ask....
Re: Where do i stand with these boots
Absolutely return them. I had a pair of Salomans which fell apart after 13 months, 2 yr stated warranty, they were replaced. BUT the replacement only had 11 months warranty left ...
Re: Where do i stand with these boots
I believe if it's under six months, they have to show it was your misuse of the product. Over six months, you have to show it was a faulty product.

Where do you stand? Presumably, in the boots ;)

Couldn't resist.
Re: Where do i stand with these boots
They were bought online so I have proof of purchase. Never needed to return footwear before.
Hopefully they have some Christmas spirit and replace them or its back to the shops for some new shoes.
Re: Where do i stand with these boots
I once bought a pair of running shoes. It was a long while ago now so the details are hazy but I wrote to the manufacturer explaining that I was happy with the shoes except that after only running in them for about 20 miles total the sole seemed to be breaking down. The manufacturer sent me back a replacement pair of shoes, albeit a newer model because the pair I had bought were end of line.
So it's definitely worth it.
