Knifes, knifes for doing "stuff" with
I stumbled on Hultafors range of specialist knifes and initially dismissed them as cheap crap due to the plastic handles and under a tenner price tag.
Several reviews later and a few youtube videos of people hammering them into metal trunking and I spent my money!
http://www.hultafors.co.uk/products/...duty-knife-gk/
and
http://www.hultafors.co.uk/hand-tool...sel-knife-stk/
That chisel knife is going to come in so handy for scraping stuff off of hammering into a door to cut out a hinge recess (ok so I probably wont be using it for hinges with all my multitool bits)
I nearly got the electricians knife but it seemed a bit pointless for my needs so I got the mini pry bar instead as it looks ideal to lift floor boards and stuff.
If anyones tempted to buy a couple I found my tool shed had the best price even with shipping!
An no I am not affiliated I just spent hours pricing the damn things up :(

quite like the look of their outdoor knife thats won a few awards too.
Handy if the zombie apocalypse ever happens and I need to actually leave the house for something other than pizza.
Re: Knifes, knifes for doing "stuff" with
Amazon do have a few available on Prime so free delivery and the knives themselves are quite cheap, may order one next week as my old general purpose CK lambs foot lock knife is getting on a bit.
Re: Knifes, knifes for doing "stuff" with
Amazons about right, especially with the known customer service & free returns.
I couldn't beat it after a few googles aver 2 days so I went with the tool place above.
i quite like the thought of being able to hammer a knife and the chisels a simple but genius idea (apart from cooking I own a fold open stanley knife and a tiny Leatherman squirt.

Whilst looking at them at various shops, I stumbled across this:

Gerber are a pretty reliable brand and what a great idea.

I love a Mora knife
Bought my boy one of these for his tenth birthday
https://www.knifecenter.com/item/FT1...polymer-handle
Value, blunt tip, laser sharp and good clip in plastic sheaf.
great for teaching him the basics of grip and hold, chest pulls etc
And I got one of these for skinning
http://www.monarchcountryproducts.co...bleeding-knife
It's got a ball bearing welded to the tip so it's utterly blunt and doesnt' ruin the meat when I skin my dinner

Happy enough with my purchases, both dunked in hot vinegar before I get them wet and forget to dry them in time!

classic Crocoldile Dundee moment
I forgot that.. in fact,...I need to get my boy to watch that film
Re: Knifes, knifes for doing "stuff" with
This thread reminded me that my swiss army knife is getting a bit old and could do with being replaced. Pretty difficult finding good ones that dont have a corkscrew these days. I really dont like having a corkscrew on the knife even if actually having the tool itself is useful. Its always the first thing to bend out of alignment and end up sticking out, then the point ends up dug into your leg...

its scissors I hate on a Swiss Army
I think the best one is the one I have.. it's got a cross head screw driver instead of a corkscrew, 2 blades, a bottle and tin opener with flat head screw driver and tweezers, all of which I've used ....many times

In the past... I would agree with you, but the ones on my current one are still good and still working after 7+ years :)
