Any suggestions please for "DeWalt" 18v replica batteries?

I won't use replica/copy batteries in my DeWalt drill or impact driver, but I have a DeWalt hand held vacuum cleaner, which is MUCH better than I expected and is being used a lot. (was half price in the Bunnings closing down/rebranding to Homebase event)
So to save me constantly recharging the drill batteries...

Any good 3Ah (or more) DeWalt 18v battery suggestions please?

Guess we are all cheapskates I thought my Bosch drill was fancy enough.

Lack of standardisation of the batteries in these things makes me quite cross though. I have a drawer full of chargers and batteries now, with only the Bosch drill and hedge trimmer interchangeable. It's the sort of thing the EU should have got involved in, but the battery user land grab is well in swing already.

A lot of the time there's a chip in the battery pack which identifies it as "genuine" and also kills it dead when the chip decides its days are done.

If it doesn't, you'll probably find it's a bunch of 18650s in there stuck together which means you can relatively easily make your own pack as long as you don't mind a battery encased entirely in duct tape.

Just remember that batteries are an insanely expensive way of dealin' out the pixies. Given the number of charge cycles that's >£10 per KW/h.

Also, remember 18650 only referee to the physical size of the cell, not the chemistry, so you can get INR or IMR (and other electrode types) liIon cells which have different discharge characteristics.
, particularly maximum discharge current, stability (safety!) and longevity.

Yeh, I've seen a couple of them. My personal favourite in terms of.... shall we say.... "quirky" Chinese design was the USB camping lamp which made the ports and (I seem to remember but might be wrong) the switch live at mains voltage when plugged in.

Any large capacity batteries like that get charged in a fireproof bag at home. I'm not so worried about my drill as it's a Makita and I doubt they're a fan of exploding batteries sold cheap.

I'm currently waiting for the Hotdogger to come down in price after his last feature. I've got some fun plans for that!

Whilst the risk for these kinds of cheap battery packs is low, the hazard is very high if they go wrong and, given you tend to expect them to last a few years, it's just not worth buying cheapo ones. Reminds me, I need to buy a new mobile phone power pack and maybe look after this one.

I get my 18650 batteries from www.18650.uk

They claim to test and all cells they send out (and print there own batch and serial numbers on them) and source from the mfr’s distributors rather than cheapo Chinese imports. Lots of good info about single cell 18650 type batteries on there as well.

I charge the battery packs for my drone in firesafe bags, but the battery packs are slightly more fragile and have a higher charging current (and the charger monitors each cell voltage during charging). For 18650 single cells ( which I use in torches, although I believe the vaping community use them) I used to use an unbranded twin cell charger that came with the torch, but now I use one of the Nitecore series. But either way, the 18650s are charged at a lower Imax and so is much safer.

nor I...this is just for the vacuum cleaner.

Currently I run it on the 1 of the small 1.3AH that came with my drill. I have an impact driver with a big arse 4ah and it's astounding.

So with a little research and some review filtering I have ordered two rip off 5.0 Ah replica batteries, which naturally claim to be Genuine and which just cant be.

I won't link them as I refuse to advertise for them. I will report back as to their crap/awesome ness
