Stainless steel blind pop rivets using hand riveter?

Aluminium rivets have become consumable items for my motorcycle, the rivets keep popping off the exhaust muffler's end cap - the rivet's heads are breaking clean off.

There are 6 rivets holding on the muffler end cap, each takes its turn to break every few months.

I'm running out of aluminium rivets.

I'm using a typical £20 hand riveting tool I bought from Lidl about 10 years ago, looks exactly like the one in the pic below, it works perfectly well for aluminium rivets.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use such a hand tool for stainless steel rivets? e.g. 4.8mm dia. 8mm long.

I have the luxury of being able to detach the muffler to rivet it on a bench, so I can get a fair bit of leverage on it, but would the tool or my wrists hold up?

You might look at the Sealey A3948 gets good reviews and is specified for stainless steel

what metal are you joining? bimetallic corrosion risk?

It should be fine, but as mentioned there's a corrosion risk. Try a Cherrymax structural rivet?

There's something iffy about using bits marketed for aerospace on an exhaust muffler that was the cheapest "road legal" option I could find on Ebay.

Oh yes, the cost! :P

Despite the low cost, the muffler is actually made of stainless steel.

I actually have that same Sealey threaded nut riveter sat in my Amazon saved-for-later list, if it did regular pop rivets as well as nutserts I'd have bought it by now, I do actually need it for nutserts but it can wait ;)
