Question Home Cinema Rear Speaker Placement

Hi folks, I currently have a 5.1.4 setup. With Monitor Audio Silver RX speakers for front, center, and fx sides. I have 4 MA CT265's in the ceiling. I saw an offer today for MA bronze FX for 155 delivered. Couldn't resist.

I know these speakers are entry-level compared to the rest of my setup, but for the price, it was hard to pass.

However, I am unsure where to place them for a 7.1.4 setup. As you can see in the pictures, the main issue is the door at the back of the room. I would have put the speakers on the back wall at either side. The door messes this up. So not sure where to put them now. Ideas?

PS, and apologies for the mess. The room was due to have cabling done and then a full paint before this COVID stuff. So it's a mess until lockdown ends and people can come in!!

    move the door?

    bit extreme tho

otherwise have them on stands and move them as needed, not ideal tho

Moving the door is a big no. There is a large aquarium on the other side of that wall

Its placement is a pain though. It's a garage conversion (done before we bought the house).

Re: Home Cinema Rear Speaker Placement

its a cracking setup, i have a 7.1 but its a front high setup i have, mainly because i ballsed up placement and then bought some floorstanders to make up for it.

i spent a fair few quid on the TV but now with 4k and 8k im looking to have it replaced, and relocated to elsewhere in the house, damn living room tv refuses to break tho so i have no excuse

Re: Home Cinema Rear Speaker Placement

I think I might put it on the door itself. And just get a long door stop to avoid it banging if door opens....
