I would have suggested solar as well tbh
Solar would be good for some of the electricity for the soluion .. but I dont think it's the whole solution
is it?
Agreed but he installs all different types of renewables including heat pumps. The fact his company is called the solar shed is misleading.

Obviously completely unrelated but took delivery of a heat pump tumble dryer recently.
Old tumble dryer was using around 2500W
Heat pump dryer is using around 800W
However drying time has increased a lot
Yes agreed, one of the reasons I got one is because I tumble dry a lot and if its better at protecting clothes then all the better for it :)
We made the mistake of getting a heat pump one, and then putting it in the garage... Now under the stairs in the office which I'm not best pleased about. 2.5 hours for a standard tumble dry.
Mines in the kitchen, its a bit noisier than the old one
Which is why we went vented with the last tumble dryer. It takes under an hour to wash clothes, then after the second load the washing machine is idle waiting for the tumble dryer to finish, and with a family of 4 we get a lot of laundry.
Next purchase, the kids will probably have left home (or at least at uni) so a heat pump model might be on the cards. That, and vented models will probably be banned by then :)
We wanted a vented one but all the good models recommended in which etc were heat pump. We got a Samsung one and so far so good. Does take s while but it's nice being able to stick it in the garage
Manual says it's fine to use down to 5C and the garage definitely doesn't go below that
Must dig out the manual and see what it says. Run time on mine was going up. It is a naff Candy one...
