    Anyone Built Pallet Garden Furniture?

    Hey

I'm not totally handy, but I like the idea of pallet furniture for my garden.

Anyone here ever built any or have any tips? Everyone seems to be buying rattan garden furniture for their patio, but It's so expensive and want something that looks a bit different and won't cost the earth!

Any suggestions welcome. I'm in the UK by the way!

Yes, but just seats and with no real skill to speak of.
If you know what you're doing, and look after them they're 'fine', they aren't great for anyone wqith a fear of spiders or bugs though as they become a lovely little home for them!

If you've got reasonably good condition pallets, you can plane or sand them down and use them just like normal wood boards.
Plenty of beginner level tutorials on making furniture that use minimal tools and will help you develop your skills.
I've always had good success with Paul Sellers, in terms of building the basic skills, doing joints and the like, which at the same time facilitate some of the free online build plans you'll find knocking around.
Another good one is Matt Estlea, especially if you like power tools.

Re: Anyone Built Pallet Garden Furniture?

We've made pallet benches and then also benches, tables etc out of proper wood. The latter are much more robust and nicer to use. Pallet stuff is all well and good if you have a stack of them from deliveries but i wouldn't go out of my way to source them especially.
