Looking for keyboard and mouse to complement my first build

I'm currently in the process of building my first ever gaming pc, I know roughly which parts I'm going to buy.
The problem, I've got no idea where to begin in terms of a mouse and keyboard, I would like them to look good, the keyboard be mechanical and with RGB compatibility, a friend suggested Razer products, any other suggestions.

Depends what your budget is and whether you want wired/wireless, but I like Corsair products. M65 Pro Gaming Mouse is awesome for the price. Love the K70 with Cherry reds as well. It's all subjective though, best thing to do is get into a shop and try a few out in person and see what you like

As mentioned, PC World exists so you can go look at stuff in person, try it out for feels, and then buy it cheaper online from more knowledgable retailers with better support.

Razer are very 'Gamerz' oriented and quite expensive, as are some other manufacturers... that doesn't mean they're any good, though. A lot of Razer stuff feels like cheap and lightweight plastic, too.
Coolermaster are a bit the same, but occasionally have winning products.

I find Roccat stuff usually ticks my boxes in terms of features, performance, ease of use, build quality and value for money.
Corsair are a bit more nuanced, but also very good.

Logitech have long been a pillar of the gaming peripherals market. They also do more basic starter kit and all sorts in between.
Personally, I find I go all around the houses in an effort to avoid the Logitech cliche, but still end up going with a lot of Logitech products. Currently using a G700S mouse and an old G19 keyboard, myself!

Haha, I do that with PC World a lot too. Every now and again you get a good deal though, got my current monitor an MSI MAG241C from there and it was cheapest price I could find for it, generally though yes go in look at the monitors and peripherals and then buy online

£39.99 with prime membership. I have a K70 but it was spilled on. I should see if it is ok.

Depends on your budget etc I guess but for RBG and quality, you can't go far wrong with the Logitech G series.#

I love my G901 and G502 Hero, comfy to use and the keyboard pretty much can do everything you can think of with RGB.

Can't really suggest anything until you give me any price range that you're looking for. If you're not really worrying about budget, then I'd agree with your friend and disagree with some of the replies here.

For example, the Razer Huntsman Elite is what I'm currently using. Competing at the top level (not professional tho) for some years, it's the keyboard that I'd recommend to everyone.

If you think it's too expensive, then some corsair options would be good.

Overall, tell me something about your budget so I can give you a better suggestion.

I recommend not going with keyboard and mouse combo. Instead, pick two separate peripherals that you like - they don't even have to be from the same manufacturer. What's your budget?
