is it possible to use separate throttle with a Logitech 3D extreme joystick
Hey this probably isn't the right thread but I couldn't find a one for other peripherals. I really like the ergonomics and look of the logitech extreme joystick but like many people I don't like the throttle control and I was just wondering is it possible to add a separate throttle that is bundled with the thrustmaster for instance and use that alongside this joystick. If anyone could share a bit of info on this would much appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael

Can't see why not. Windows will just recognise them as separate devices with independent axes, same as if you had pedals attached as well. My own CH Products kit works like that anyway.
If you use a lot of fancy configs and mapped macros or something, you'd likely have to use the relevant app for setting each one up, but I can't see there being a problem.

I think it should be. Use the logitech control panel (install it if you haven't already) that came with the joystick drivers. It allows you to map each key on the joystick. Disable the throttle or assign it to something else, like for flares, or a mine dump or whatever takes your fancy, then there won't be a conflict.

Not everything comes with its own drivers. Some will just use the standard Windows ones, meaning you wouldn't even need the own brand software, necessarily, and can just assign specific axes and functions in-game.

I have that joystick too. It's great but I know what you mean about the throttle being a bit... small/annoyingly positioned vs a dedicated throttle. I haven't loaded it onto my current build as not played BF for ages now but IIRC you can map the keys/buttons as the person above suggests, but whether you can de-assign them completely so they don't conflict/clash/try to override each other I'm not sure. Best thing to do is try it and see what happens.
If you've lost the disc you can download it here: https://support.logitech.com/en_gb/p...pro/downloads#
