Happy national cheese on toast day!

    http://www.nationalcheeseontoastday.com/

I just found out that it's National Cheese On Toast Day today. I shall have to celebrate tonight, as ConT (snigger) is one of my favourite snacks. So, how do you do it?

Me - Grill the bread on one side, then lightly grill the other so it's just ever so slightly beige - throw a handful of cheese and a little bit of sliced red onion, then grill until bubbling.

    *slobber*

Either that or get two slices of unbuttered bread, fill with grated cheese, lightly spread olive oil on the outside of the sandwich, grill for 3 minutes on a preheated george foreman grill, sprinkle some grated cheese on top then grill again for 1 minute so there's nice and crispy cheese on top.

    What?

    Cheese on Toast day...

    Awesome

I do similar but I don't bother to grill the side with the cheese on first, I just throw a load of extra mature cheddar on - the stronger the better and then grill until it's bubbling away.

Next up, other toppings. Piccalilli is a firm favourite, followed closely by chopped pickled onions and then finely sliced ham. No not all at the same time

Cheese on Toast isn't cheese on toast without the regulation "glug" of lea and perrins.

Off to tescos tonight for some bread then.

Has to be white bread, and has to be proper cheddar, with a flavour rating of at least 4. 5 is better.

It's okay but once you've done the garlic and bacon route, there's no turning back, frankly....
