Tried something I haven't made for ages tonight - French onion soup with some improv![]()
Ingredients
Margarine
7 or 8 onions -stronger the better (red onions would be cool)
3 beef OXO cubes in 700ml boiling water
Red or white wine
Tabasco to taste - the kick!
Herbs
Salt/Pepper
Method
Add the marg to a large pan - drop in the onions on a medium heat and brown.
Add the beef stock, good smidgen of red wine (be generous, add all the other ingredients and anything else you have lying about!
Cook for about 30 mins - don't let the onions get too soft
Toast some crusty bread with cheese on top
Enjoy!
