White Wine from Chile: Here's a cracker

Isla Negra Chardonnay 2006. Was given it yesterday by guests, and that was lovely.

Can only find it on Tesco's website as a case of 6, working out at £6.64 per bottle.

I agree with soft, rich and creamy, but don't agree at all with honeyed!

I'd say thought that it had a massive whoosh of ripe pears, rather than a more normal chardonnay appleyness.

And it was good....just plain good.

Anyone seen it anywhere other than Tesco?

Isla Negra are nice wines, can't ever think I have been disappointed. Not sure where I have seen them other than Tesco.

Funnily enough I got a couple of bottles in Morrisons last week - it was half price at £3.49. Think the offer finished at the weekend

Try Conch Y Toro as well, another cracking Chilean producer. Their Carmenere as gorgeous.

I agree whole heartedly, my more precious wine collection involves lots of their Merlot Bin 1024 was my best purcahse.
