What have you got that might need using up?
Cheese and bacon toastie? mmm i like them![]()
toad in the hole with some mash, always a favorite!
in fact, thats what im gonna have tonight now
Not really a case of using stuff up , will be doing a shop soon , so looking for ideas before i do it ..tend to get the same or similar stuff all the time and would like to try some different things ! Not a veggie , but dont eat loads of meat either ..mostly chicken i guess .
My simple but quick (i.e done and eaten within an hour) staples are:
Thai Chicken curry
Chilli con carne
Chicken fajitas
Chicken (or beef) stir fry (get a pack of noodles and beansprouts and a sachet of sauce)
Lamb Casserole
Salmon fillets with lemon and black pepper
and I'm gonna try that tangine of G8ina's over the weekend.
I'm also by myself (aww) but cook for 4 and freeze the rest - so the next meals are done within half an hour!

Easy Peasy very quick chicken with Cous Cous and Orange:
Grill some Chicken (breast, thigh whatever you want)
Make up some chicken stock from a stock cube
Make the cous cous according to instuctions (basically pour hot water on it) BUT use the chicken stock instead of water.
Peel an orange, and slice the segments up into chunks.
Then just throw the whole lot onto a plate and eat it. If you want you can add a green veg such as brocolli or peas etc.
If you've not eaten cous cous before, it's kind of like rice, but way easier to cook and less bland (especially if made in stock instead of water).
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
