    Favourite Chilli Sauce

    With so many chilli sauces out there, I just wondered what were people's personal favourites? Mainly to see if i've missed out on any good ones, (and because I'm so very bored )

    Mine are:
    Econa Original West Indian Hot Pepper Sauce
    Dan T's Inferno White Hot Sauce
    Who Dares Burns Sauce from Hot Headz

    i like green tabasco, not too spicy, but bloody tasty

    also, pickled chilli and garlic sauce is good (my grandad showed me its greatness), its just pickled and blended, SO fiery, but with that acidy tang... unfortunately I dont remember who its made by, but Im sure if you go to an asian supermarket you'll find something similar, I think it was thai, but Im not certain

    From that list, The Encona Original West Indian Hot pepper sauce.

    I like the regular red tabasco, use it most days in fact.

    But the best chilli sauce was a home made one my mate Lennox's wife made at home. Extremely hot, but smooth and superb

    If you can get it... try Maggi Chilli sauce or Maggi HOT Chilli sauce.

    Made in Malaysia but I used to get it in a newsagent in Reading!

    Most of the Maggi range is great
    I remeber Dant'es fondly as a student !

    The Nando's range of peri-peri sauces are pretty tasty.

    I;m a sucker for the sweet chilli sauce ( also known as chilli sauce for chicken , or dipping chilli sauce )

    ya, maggi is good, american based if I remember correctly, but extremely tasty... always worth picking up if you see it. Not available in my local Tescos, Waitrose or sainsburys...; I know, Ive looked

    Sriracha is the daddy of chilli sauces IMHO. They even use it in US prisons! (Really!) Seriously though, I've been into a fair few Asian restaurants in Australia (they love their asian food) and the best ones all use Sriracha.



    You can buy it in specialist places in London as well as online, but I've not seen it in any supermarkets. It's not too hot, but damn, damn good.

    Jamaican Jerk is a fantastic sauce. But don't eat too much, cos the chillis in it WILL give you ring burn.

    I must say, Who Dares Burns sauce is the ultimte. Probably too hot (hotter i'd say than Dave's Insanity Sauce), and a bit bitter. But as a BBQ marinade it's a must!

    And I'm definately going to track down some Sriracha, sounds good to me!

    Yeah I got mine at fifth sense. I got some fajita sauce there too which was pretty good. Glad to see they are still going

    I now make my own. I also use Nando PirPiri & Encona Hot Pepper Sauce, but a jar of olive oil with a load of chopped red chillis left for a month or two makes as hot a chilli oil as one can want

    When you make garlic oil , you are supposed to blanch the garlic first - is this not the case with chillies or can you use raw ones ?
